Sean and Rachel met in July 2014 through their mutual friend Tom at a Baltimore Orioles baseball game. They quickly became friends over their shared love of music, art, literature, and SpongeBob SquarePants.

Five years later, Sean was visiting from Brooklyn and asked Rachel on a date. They had dinner at Clavel Mezcaleria and almost crashed a wedding later that night. After two years of long-distance dating, Sean moved to Baltimore in 2021. On May 4, 2024, Rachel said “Yes!” at the Rawlings Conservatory in Druid Hill Park.
